BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Miki Khursheed climbed into the top 15 with a 2-under 70 in the second round as Dominican men's golf finished eighth at the weather-shortened WWU Men's Invitational at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

For the second consecutive tournament, weather prevented the Penguins from completing the scheduled 54 holes. Overnight heavy rains forced the cancellation of Tuesday's final round, making the results through Monday's first 36 holes official. Host Western Washington captured the team championship at 14 under after rounds of 287 and 275, finishing seven strokes ahead of runner-up Colorado Christian at 7 under. Dominican carded rounds of 295 and 292 to finish at 11 over, placing eighth in the 15-team field. The Penguins finished ahead of each of the three PacWest opponents in the field, topping Hawai'i Hilo by eight strokes, Hawai'i Pacific by nine and Jessup by 13.

Khursheed led Dominican for the second consecutive tournament, following an opening 74 with a 2-under 70 to finish even par and tied for 15th. It was his second straight finish at even par after two rounds of 72 to open his collegiate career. His four-stroke improvement in the second round gave the Penguins their lowest individual round of the tournament. Ayden Stack finished tied for 29th at 3 over after opening with a 1-over 73 and closing with a 74.

Carson Sorci was one stroke behind at 4 over, tying for 36th after rounds of 73 and 75. Jerred Scott produced Dominican's largest round-to-round improvement. After opening with a 79, Scott cut six strokes from his score with a 1-over 73 in the second round to finish tied for 58th at 8 over. Joseph Berggren rounded out the lineup at 7 over, tying for 53rd after rounds of 75 and 76.

The Penguins will continue their fall schedule at the 2026 RCA Electric Fall Invitational with competition teeing off on Monday at TPC Monterey at Pasadera in Monterey, California.
