SONOMA, Calif. – Dominican men's golf finished 12th at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational on Tuesday at Sonoma Golf Club.
Cal State Monterey Bay won the team title at 18 over par while Simon Fraser was in second at 27 over. The Penguins finished at 77 over par to top Vanguard by three strokes and CSU Dominguez Hills by four strokes.
Daniel Marmorstein had a solid opening round at 2-over 74, but caught fire in the second round with six birdies on his way to a 3-under 69 to move solidly into the top-10 among individuals. While he slowed in the heat of Tuesday's final round, Marmorstein finished with a 77 to tie for eighth overall at 4 over par.
Jerred Scott was solid in the first and third rounds posting a 4-over 76 to open and a 5-over 77 to close on his way to a 20 over par that tied him for 49th place individually.
Joseph Berggren saved his best for last as he cut his score by over half with a 5-over 77 to move into a tie for 71st with teammate
Mason Mancasola who opened with a 77 on his way to a 28 over for the tournament.
Carter Degelman wrapped up the squad with a 37 over to finish 80th overall.
Dominican will conclude its regular season at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational beginning Monday, April 14 at Turlock Golf and Country Club.
