TURLOCK, Calif.- Dominican men's golf team used the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational as one last tune up before the conference championships which take place next week in Vegas. CSU Monterey Bay had it going in this tournament as they placed first posting 18 under par. The Penguins finished 14
th overall and will now look to preparing for the PacWest Championships.
Sophomore
Joseph Berggren had a strong tournament as he tied with fellow teammate
Daniel Marmorstein with a team best of seven over par for the tournament. Berggren, the Massachusetts native, collected seven birdies to go along with one eagle. The eagle came on day two of the tournament on a long par five where Berggren flashed short game finishing off an impressive hole.
Marmorstein, the junior out of Agoura Hills, tied Berggren shooting seven over for the tournament and his best round came in day two. He shot 1 under par for the round with his best hole coming on the final hole where he rocketed a drive, and a nice approach shot had him scoring an eagle to finish.
Sophomore
Jerred Scott rounded out the top three for the Pengs as he finished this tournament within the top 75. Scott collected 11 birdies throughout the three days which gave him the team lead.
Dominican will now focus on the conference championships which start April 21
st.
