ALAMEDA, Calif. – Dominican women's golf finished 15th at the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout on Tuesday at Corica Park Golf Course.

Cal State East Bay won the team title at 7 over par with Cal State LA two strokes behind them in second place. The Penguins finished at 61 over par edging out Chico State by a stroke while also topping PacWest foe Point Loma.

Elexxis Mingming was a consistent presence for Dominican as she opened up with three birdies on an even par front nine before finishing with a 3-over 75 in Monday's first round. She then moved up two spots in the final round with a second 75 to finish tied for 20th at 6 over par. Faith Guevara got off to a slow start with a first round of 82 but recorded the lowest round of any Penguin in the tournament as she finished with two birdies and 14 pars on her way to an even par 72 Tuesday. Her fantastic finish to the tournament catapulted her 30 spots on the individual leader board Into a tie for 42nd overall.

Madi Whitney had a similar outcome as she opened with a 12-over 84, but dramatically improved in her second round as an eagle on the front nine helped her tie Mingming with a 75 on the day. Whitney moved up 18 spots in the final round to tie for 62nd overall. Angelika Stevens tied for 98th individually at 30 over par with Delilah Saur finishing in 102nd at 35 over to round out the Dominican team. 

Dominican will return to the course Monday, March 31 as it heads to Tucson for West Texas A&M's Desert Invitational at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
