LODI, Calif. – Dominican cross country took on competition from all three levels of the NCAA taking fifth in both the men's and women's races of the Pacific Invite at Micke Grove Golf Course.

Pacific topped the women's race with 17 points and Santa Clara took the men's team title with 28 points. The Penguins finished with 110 points in the women's race and 144 in the men's to take fifth.

Bella Bueno had a fantastic race among the stiff competition finishing 11th with a time of 23:45.9 setting a new personal record in a 6k for the second time this season. Sarah Chavez also beat her personal best as she outkicked Nelly Isidro of Cal State East Bay down the stretch to place 21st overall with a time of 25:11.4. Sienna Fassett edged a runner form PacWest foe Jessup by three seconds to take 30th as she crossed the finish line in 27:03.1. Karsyn Walton finished 33rd with a time of 27:12.7 and Valeria Ramirez Contreras placed 37th overall with a time of 31:15.0 to wrap up the competitors on the women's side.

Diego Montag continued to pace Dominincan on the men's side as he beat out a runner from Santa Clara by 10 seconds to take 33rd with a time of 26:58.9. Robert Dawson was in a sprint for the finish line with a runner from Pacific dropping three seconds behind him into 43rd with a time of 27:40.9. Emmanuel Hurley was in a pack of four NCAA Division I runners beating out a pair of Tigers to take 47th with a time of 28:21.0. Diego Alas crossed the finish line ahead of a pair of Warriors in 29:02.2 to finish 53rd. Jailen Truitt-Johnson placed 59th (30:56.3) with Daniel Salmeron Romo close behind in 60th (31:10.5) and Starlight Lain-Straus rounding out the Penguin squad with a 65th place finish with a time of 36:06.6.

Dominican will be back in action Saturday, October 18 for the Bronco Invite hosted by Santa Clara at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, California.
