GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Dominican women's golf finished 10th at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic at Palm Valley Golf Club.
Northeastern State won the tournament at 12 over par moving up three spots on the day with a final round of 2-over 290. Dominican improved on its first round score by a stroke with a 14-over 302 to finish 10th at 29 over par, the best finish for PacWest teams with Holy Names and Academy of Art who tied for 12th at 37 over.
Claire Shubin moved up 10 spots on the individual leaderboard as she finished with three birdies in a round of even par to conclude her tournament. Shubin led all golfers form the PacWest as she tied for eighth at 2 over par for the tournament with six other golfers.
Angelica Antonio had a strong finish to the tournament with four pars and birdie on her final five holes to finish with a round of 3-over 75 and move up a spot into a tie for 34th at 7 over par. She was tied with teammate
Lauren Parayno who had an extremely strong start to the day with six pars and two birdies before a bogey on nine had her at 1 under par as she made the turn to 10. She slowed down on the back nine to finish at 5 over par for the day.
Phoebe Sundberg also had a strong finish to the day with six consecutive pars as she improved her round two score by a stroke to finish the tournament tied for 72nd at 13 over par.
Ashley Pan once again found most of her success on the back nine as she moved up 11 spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for 103rd at 17 over par.
Dominican will have a quick turnaround as it begins the Sonoma State Spring Women's Invite on Monday at Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club.
