STOCKTON, Calif. – Sophomore
Angelica Antonio climbed a remarkable 36 spots in the final round of the 2022 Visit Stockton Invitational to finish 12
th overall while helping Dominican finish tied for 7
th among the 19 competing schools.
Antonio's final round score of +3 put her into a tie for fourth place on the day, while scoring an impressive -1 on the final nine holes of the day and a +10 overall in the two-day event.
Claire Shubin and
Lauren Parayno finished the close behind, tying for 15
th place overall while posting identical scores of +11 as the two golfers moved up a combined 33 spots on the final day.
Alissa Salazar and
Ashley Pan tallied two-day totals of +19 and +21, respectively, to round out the Dominican top-5, also moving up a combined seven spots on the leader board.
The Penguins moved up six spots as a team on the final day of the invitational, falling just three strokes shy of a fourth place finish. The final day combined total of 76 total individual spots climbed on the final day of the tournament was more than any other team competing in the event.
Dominican now looks ahead to Tuesday, March 1 when it heads to Alameda to compete in the Pioneer Shootout.
