Waipahu, Hawai'i — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team was swept 5-0 to host Hawai'i Pacific University in the opening match of the 2013 Pacific West Conference Women's Tennis Championships. HPU, the No. 3 team in NCAA Division II and the top team in the West Region, improved to 17-1 while Dominican fell to 7-12. The eight-seed Lady Penguins face the loser of the match between No. 4 seeded Fresno Pacific University and No. 5 seeded Azusa Pacific University in the consolation bracket. That match is slated for Friday, April 19 at 12:30 p.m. in Hawai'i.
