San Rafael, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team was swept by Division I Southern Utah University on Friday afternoon.

The loss dropped Dominican to 2-8 while the Thunderbirds moved above the .500 mark at 3-2.

SUU, which won last season's match 6-3, has been a mainstay on the Dominican schedule since the 1999 season, with the exception of a rainout in 2002. Dominican won its only matchup in 2006 with a 7-0 sweep.

The Lady Penguins were scheduled to host Notre Dame de Namur on Saturday but that has been rescheduled as a doubleheader with the Argos on March 24. Instead, Dominican will next play when it hosts Winona State University on Tuesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m.
