Irina Morozova earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory at number one singles over Melissa Breisacher but the Dominican University of California women's tennis team fell 8-1 to No. 32 ranked Cal State San Diego on Saturday.
Dominican (1-5) was swept in doubles play.
Marissa Frazer and
Gaby Verspieren fell 8-4 to Melissa Breisacher and Kyra Scott at number one doubles play. Morozova and Prescott also fell 8-4 to Paula Chou and Jacquelyn Davis.
Francesca Katafias and
Ariana Paradis dropped an 8-1 number three doubles match to Melinda Chu and Tara Vanooteghem.
Marissa Frazer earned a 7-5 victory in the first set of her number three singles match with Chou but eventually fell 6-3, 13-11. Verspieren fell 6-2, 6-0 to Scott at number two singles. Prescott and Katafias both fell 6-0, 6-1 at four and five singles while Paradis fell 6-1, 6-0 at number six singles.
Dominican wraps up its four-match road trip on Monday, Feb. 18 vs. yet another nationally ranked opponent, host #14 Grand Canyon University.
