SAN RAFAEL, CAlif. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team improved to 2-0 as they defeated Mills College 6-3 in non-conference play on Saturday afternoon at Forest Meadows Tennis Courts.
Stephanie Lemp and
Michele Freitas each won their second straight No. one and two matchups, respectively.
Anh Truong posted back-to-back scores of 6-2 to take the number three win.
Caskey Cunningham posted a nice 6-0 score and clinched her win in the number five slot with a 6-4 victory.
Lemp and Freitas paired to win the singles doubles match and the combo of Tan and Truong took the number two set.
"Michele's baseline game is improving tremendously." commented Dominican Coach
Greg Kennett, referring to Freitas. "It's a great way to keep the momentum going after being rained out earlier in the week."
The Dominican women will face Academy of Art University on Wednesday, March 3. Match time is set for 2:30 p.m. in San Francisco.
