SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Kennett joined Dominican for the 2010 season from UC Berkeley where he served as the volunteer assistant for the men’s tennis team. In 2008, Kennett served as the associate head women’s tennis coach at St. Mary’s College. From 1999-2007, he served as Illinois State’s head men’s tennis coach. While there, he produced six Valley individual champions, four Valley doubles champions, seven Valley scholar-athletes and 14 all-conference selections.. He was named Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year twice, first in 2003 and in 2006, when the Redbirds snagged their first-ever regular season conference title with a perfect 7-0 conference mark.

Kennett was also a member of the NCAA men's tennis selection and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) committees, and served as the chair of the ITA Region 5 committee.

The Bloomington, Ill. native played two seasons at Eastern Michigan before transferring to Illinois. He was named team captain for the Illini his senior year and graduated in 1991 with a BS in political science. In 1997 he played with the St. Louis Aces of the Professional World Team Tennis Leagues.
