Aguirre becomes second All-American for Dominican track

PUEBLO, Colo. – Adrian Aguirre became Dominican men's track and field's second All-American in as many years after finishing seventh nationally on Saturday at the ThunderBowl.
Aguirre had a stellar start on Thursday as he was neck-and-neck the entire way with Parker Wormek of Central Missouri in the first heat. Wormek was able to outstretch Aguirre at the end to win the heat but Aguirre was .01 seconds behind him to earn the qualification into the finals and a spot on the podium as an All-American.
Aguirre gave it all he had in the final running neck and neck with Jordan Dely of New Haven in a photo finish that Aguirre won by .004 seconds to claim a seventh place finish in his first trip to the national championships.
