FRESNO, Calif.- Dominican men's and women's track and field opened the 2025 season at the FPU Sunbird Invitational Saturday afternoon. Junior
Jalydon Love was the top performer on the men's side placing fifth in the 200m with a time of 21.55 while senior
Caytlin Capulong led the women's side posting fourth in the javelin throw.
Capulong showed off her strength in the javelin throw coming down with a distance of 30.96m collecting five points for the Pengs. Fellow senior
Andrew Reinhard didn't disappoint in the men's javelin as he finished in the top 10 with a distance of 46.82m.
Switching gears to the 100 meter, a trio of freshmen led the way on the women's side.
Tatyana Robles was the leader of the pack showing her speed finishing with a time of 12.73.
Vivian Rodrigues and
Gabriella Saoud were right behind her with times of 13.29 and 15.18. It's safe to say the future is bright with these three freshmen leading the way for the lady Pengs in the 100m.
On the men's side, it was a duo of freshmen who led the way in the 800 meter.
Diego Montag, the freshman out of Camarillo showed good pace throughout the long event finishing in the top 10 with a time of 2:01:09. Jeroam Wood-Piña logged in a solid time to finish within the top 25.
