KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Dominican men's basketball was once again awarded the Team Academic Excellence award by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) while Garrett Siebels was named to the NABC Honors Court.

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2022-23 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The Penguins achieved a team GPA of 3.179 while Siebels earned a 3.821 GPA while seeking a degree in Global Public Health. In his first season at Dominican after two years at Santa Rosa Junior College, Siebels led the team in 3-point shooting knocking down 41.1% of his shots behind the arc while averaging 11.8 points per game.

Over 1,800 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and over 300 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2022-23.
