Box Score LOS ANGELES – Dominican women's tennis fell 6-1 Saturday afternoon to Cal State LA in the first match of its Southern California road trip at the Cal State LA Tennis Complex.
 
Isabella Lopez and Amanda Schneider gave the Golden Eagles (4-4) the first victory of doubles with a 6-0 win on the top court. Chelsey Ruiz and Mariko Sagara sealed the doubles point for CSULA with a 6-3 victory in No. 3 doubles, while Luciana Di Laura and Berta Acero Garcia were close behind with their own 6-3 victory on court two.
 
Alex Wartenberg was awarded the only point for the Penguins (2-3) as Acero Garcia retired early in the first set to tie the team score at 1-1. The Golden Eagles won the remaining singles matches for the final margin of victory.
 
Dominican will head to Irvine on Monday to take on Concordia University Irvine at noon PST.
