FULLERTON, Calif. – Freshman
Jacob Potere led Dominican men's cross country to its best finish at the PacWest Cross Country Championships placing eighth among the 10 team field at Craig Regional Park.
"It was a beautiful park and a true cross country course," head coach Terresa DiPerna said. "We really laid everything we had out there and competed."
Biola claimed the conference championship with 21 points, including four top-5 finishers. The Penguins finished with 227 points to beat out teams from Holy Names and Chaminade.
Potere crossed the finish line in 26:45.9 to place 26th overall in the 8k. Senior
Buay Deng placed 38th with a time of 27.19.21, while freshman
Stefan Mueller took 49th with a time of 28:12.95. Freshman
Deyne Jurie and senior
Brock Albee finished back-to-back in 70th and 71st with times of 34:44.26 and 34:55.41, respectively.
Dominican will send Potere, Deng and Mueller to the NCAA Division II West Region Championships on Nov. 9 at Ash Creek Preserve in Monmouth, Oregon, to conclude the season.
