SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Dominican women's tennis fell 6-1 in an exhibition match to Santa Clara on Saturday.
The Penguins dropped their three doubles matches 6-1, 6-0 and 6-2 as freshman

Alex Wartenberg competed in the longest match. After the Broncos swept the first three singles matches of the afternoon, Gray won her match in three sets, 6-3, 0-6, 6-2. No other Penguin made it past the second set.
"Today's match against Santa Clara was a great opportunity to test our mental competitiveness and stamina," Dominican head coach
Cristina Visico said. "I was pleased with our performance and our team's competitive spirit from the first ball in the doubles to the last ball struck in the singles. We're looking forward to the next two weeks to prepare for our first regular season match."
Dominican opens the regular season at Sonoma State for their next match
on Feb. 10.
