SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – In the team's first road match in more than three weeks, the Dominican University of California women's tennis team swept UC Santa Cruz 9-0 on Saturday afternoon.
 
The result extends the Penguins' winning streak and it represents the squad's third sweep of the season.
 
Saturday's win in Santa Cruz also featured two other sweeps, including an 8-0 result at the No. 2 doubles position and a 6-0, 6-0 score in No. 6 singles.
 
Alex Wartenberg and Rickimae Torries combined for the perfect doubles win while Solveig Karlsen didn't lose a game in the singles matchup.
 
It proved to be a total team effort as UCSC didn't manage to win more than three games in any particular set on Saturday. Overall, the Penguins now own an 8-5 record and a 3-2 mark away from home.
 
Up next, Dominican will challenge Holy Names on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Oakland.
