LAIE, Hawaii - The Dominican University of California women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 result on Monday at BYU-Hawaii.
Entering the match, the Seasiders held the No. 2 spot in the NCAA Division II national rankings and the No. 1 spot within the West Region. With the result, the Penguins fall to 2-4 overall. BYUH continues to hold an undefeated mark at 10-0.
Brooke Briseno put together a stellar performance in the opening set of her singles matchup. Taking on the fourth-ranked Min Liu, Briseno fell by a narrow 6-4 margin in that first set.
Continuing the Hawaii trip, Dominican will return to action on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with a road match at Chaminade.
