SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team trailed early and eventually tied the match 4-4 but ultimately fell 5-4 to Cal Lutheran on Saturday afternoon.
Dominican's lone doubles win came at the top spot from
Chloe Vicari and
Kelly Zwicker. The duo recorded an 8-4 victory but the Penguins trailed 2-1 early.
Rickimae Torres continued her strong singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory and
Gianna Cupo picked up the No. 2 singles win with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Solveig Karlsen earned a closely contested 7-6 (10-5), 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.
Dominican hosts Dixie State on Sunday, March 29 at 9:30 a.m. in an important regional matchup.
