SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team took advantage of a short-handed Notre Dame de Namur squad to take an easy 9-0 decision on Monday.

NDNU (0-2), whose roster didn't feature a single returner from 2013, was little match for the No. 10 regionally-ranked Penguins (4-3). Dominican earned 8-0 victories in both doubles matches and cruised to sweeps in all four singles matches as well.

While Irina Morozova and Emily Prescott were penciled into the lineup, it was no more than a formality, which allowed Head Coach Alex Poorta to rest two of her top players.

The Penguins head to No. 13 Academy of Art University on Sunday, March 16 for an 11:00 a.m. match. The Urban Knights have climbed 13 places in the national rankings since the two teams last met on Feb. 21. The Penguins played well but fell 8-1 in that contest.
