SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team played tough but was swept by No. 26 Academy of Art University for the second time this season on Sunday.
Irina Morozova and
Emily Prescott fell 8-3 to Nina Gajdosikova and Daniela Amelunge in No. 1 doubles action while
Emily Prescott and Chole Vicari fell 8-5 to Jenny Johnansson and Lucia Zavarcikova in No. 2 doubles play. ART U (4-0) took a 3-0 lead with an 8-0 victory in the No. 3 doubles matches.
Morozova fell to Gajdosikova in No. 1 single play, 6-4, 6-3. Prescott gave the No. 10 regionally-ranked Penguins (2-2) their next best chance in a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Michelle Dandik at No. 3 singles.
"I was pleased with everybody's performances today," said Head Coach Alex Poorta. "The girls fought hard regardless of the outcome."
The Penguins are off until Saturday, March 1 when the Penguins host Cal State Stanislaus at 12:00 p.m.
