GLENDALE, Ariz. — The Dominican University of California women's tennis team made it back-to-back victories on Saturday with a 7-2 win over Chaminade University.

The Penguins (2-1) jumped out to an early 2-1 lead over the Silver Swords (0-4) in doubles play.  Irina Morozova and Caitlin Aloia had a close match but pulled away from the 9-8 (7-1) in No. 1 doubles play. Emily Prescott and Chloe Vicari dropped a close 9-7 decision in No. 2 doubles play but the No. 3 duo of Francesca Katafias and Kelly Zwicker swept Isel Barba and Satzy Pulido, 8-0.

Morozova made it a perfect weekend by topping Takara in No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-1, as did Katafias, who earned the No. 6 doubles victory, 6-1, 6-1, over Pulido. Vicari continued her undefeated singles play with a 6-3, 6-1 in the No. 4 slot over Roni Hewett. Prescott earned a hard-fought 6-2, 7-5 win over Jan Matsumoto in No. 3 singles play and Zwicker picked up the No. 5 singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Barba.

The Penguins (2-1) made it a perfect road after with Friday's 8-1 victory over Western New Mexico and Thursday's 6-3 exhibition victory over Mesa Community College.

Dominican returns home to host four matches beginning with Notre Dame de Namur on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 2:00 p.m.
