POMONA, Calif. — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team was held shotless on Saturday and dropped a 3-0 decision to Cal Poly Pomona in non-conference play.
The Broncos (2-0-0) scored in just the game's eighth minute and that's all they would need to defeat the Lady Penguins (0-2-0. Cal Poly Pomona added another goal in the first half and one late in the second half.
While the Lady Penguin offense stayed dormant Dominican's defense was tested time and time again. 
Megan Herring made 11 saves despite letting three balls slip by her. 
Dominican took three corner kicks in the first half but was unable to take advantage of those opportunities. Neither team attempted a corner kick in the second half.
The Lady Penguins will look for their first win when they return home on September 10 to face visiting St. Martin's University. Non-conference play kicks off at 4:00 p.m. at Forest Meadows Field.
