HILO, Hawai'i — The Dominican University of California women's soccer team earned its second consecutive Pacific West Conference victory on Wednesday with a 1-0 shutout of the University of Hawai'i at Hilo.
Despite being outshot 18-7 for the match, Dominican (6-7-1/5-4-1) needed just
Kelly Miura's shot in the 68th minute to earn the victory and pass UH Hilo (6-7-1/5-5-0) in the standings.
Julianna Bratsberg made a cross from the right side to Miura, who nailed her first goal of the season right in the middle of the net.
The Lady Penguins made the most of their opportunities, placing all seven shots on frame while the Vulcans placed just eight of 18 on frame. Miura and
Bridget Folan led Dominican with two shots on goal apiece.

Megan Herring notched her fourth shutout of the season with seven saves.
The Penguins look to leave Hawai'i with a winning road trip on Saturday, October 23 when they travel back to Honolulu to face Hawai'i Pacific University. Kickoff is slated for 3:00/6:00 p.m. Pacific.
