HILO, Hawaii.- Dominican women's volleyball concluded their Hawaii road trip late Saturday night with a non-conference matchup against the Vulcans of Hawaii Hilo. Freshman
Alexis Schwartz continued her hot start to her rookie campaign as she once again led the Pengs offense with a team high 10 kills. This is Schwartz's sixth match with 10 or more kills.
The Penguins found soft spots in the Vulcans defense as they forced a game high five aces in this one. Schwartz,
Kiara Milar,
Sophia Bernabe,
Chloe Cruz, and
Ashlyn Daugherty all displayed nifty serves as they collected one ace a piece. Daugherty and fellow teammate
Avery Schneider put pressure on the Vulcans offense as they ended the match with two blocks each.
Bernabe and Milar were the energizer Pengs as they were all over the court in this one. Bernabe, the Vallejo native, collected a team high 18 digs while Milar was dished out a team high 11 assists. This match marked Bernabe's fifth time she has posted 10 more digs.
Dominican will be back in action Sep. 25
th when they travel up north for a non-conference match with Jessup at 7 p.m.
