SURPRISE, Arizona – Dominican women's tennis was named All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for its outstanding achievements in the classroom with six Penguins earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
To be named as an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale) with all student-athletes on the team's official roster counting towards the GPA regardless of playing status. ITA Scholar-Athletes are those student-athletes that earned a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year.
This is the seventh consecutive year the Penguins have been named as an All-Academic Team dating back to 2017. Four Dominican student-athletes repeated as scholar athletes led by
Gina Dudley who earned her third such honor with
Astrid Craig,
Audrey Rafols and
Logan Koitka each claiming the award for the second time. They were joined by freshman
Lorenza Foster-Simbulan and Sofia Acuña who earned the award in their first year of eligibility.
