The Penguins were led by a trio of freshmen in this one as
Kaylee Noa was everywhere on the court for Dominican racking up a game high 20 digs to go along with two aces. This is now Noa's sixth match of the season posting 10 or more digs. Fellow freshman
Cierra Ray led the Pengs in the offensive department slamming home a team high seven kills.
In the second set the defense stepped up and that was led by
Alexis Schwartz. Schwartz, the freshman out of Carlsbad, collected a couple of huge blocks which halted the Cougars momentum.
Ashlyn Daugherty and
Reese Bozak followed Schwartz's blocks with consecutive kills off nice passes from teammate
Chloe Cruz. Cruz, the sophomore out of Cerritos, finished with a team high nine assists.Â
Dominican will look to bounce back as Vanguard comes into town tomorrow at 7 p.m. Tomorrow's match will also include the celebration of the 2025 DUC Hall of Fame class before and during the match.
