Dominican women's volleyball was on the road Saturday afternoon as they wrapped up the month of October at Fresno Pacific University. The Penguins were able to take the second set 25-18 with the help of freshman
Braenwynne Matthews who collected 10 kills on the match, but the Sunbirds would outlast Dominican winning three sets to one.
The 10 kills for the Idaho native marked her second time this season posting double-digit kills. Graduate student
Edee Leslie and junior
Ella Heckman were tied for second on the team with seven kills on the day.
Amani Abed continued her block party for the month of October as she racked up three. Senior
Sophia Hull caught the Sunbirds napping as she collected two aces.
Junior
Miekayla Surnip was all over the court for the Penguins digging 17 balls on the day. The Manteca native now has 13 games this season where she has posted double-digit assists. Fellow junior
Camille Rivers had 17 assists which marked her 15
th time she has gone for 10 or more assists this season.
Dominican returns home to face Academy of Art next Saturday, Nov. 4
th at 7 p.m.
