The Dominican University of California athletic department is excited to announce the hiring of Bailey Steger as the assistant volleyball coach.

"I am so excited to be joining Coach Fred and the Dominican women's volleyball team," Steger said. "This team has so much potential, and I can't wait to be a part of this program's success."

A native of Half Moon Bay, California, Steger comes to Dominican with an extensive background as a player for both indoor and beach volleyball. The former Division I athlete saw time with College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, before transferring to Loyola Marymount University in 2018 where she played both indoors and on the sand. During her time as an undergrad, Steger appeared in the second round of the NCAA Championship Tournament in addition to being named to the 2018-19 and 2019-2020 WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll. She graduated LMU with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, minoring in applied math. Steger was on the 2018 Loyola Marymount team that ended No. 1 BYU's bid at an undefeated season when it took down the Cougars in three straight sets in the final game of the season. 

"Bailey is a recent MBA graduate who played setter and beach player at Holy Cross, LMU and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is a quick-thinking go-getter who will adapt well to the demands of college coaching both on and off the court," head coach Fred Lin said.

Following the completion of the pursuit of her bachelor's degree, Steger earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business analytics. During her time as a Moc, Steger was named an Ohio Valley Conference Commissioner Honor Roll recipient twice, was named to the Academic All-Southern Conference Team and received a nods on the Ohio Valley All Conference Team in back-to-back years.
