SAN RAFAEL, Calif.- Dominican women's volleyball hosted PacWest foe Hawaii Pacific Wednesday night for a conference showdown. Freshman Sophia Bernabe was all over the court in this one as she posted a game high 29 digs to go along with a couple of assists.

The Sharks jumped out to a fast start in the first set thanks in part to Marley Sandoval who clinched the set with consecutive kills. Dominican would answer with a fast start of their own in the second set jumping out to a 4-2 lead. Sophomore Chloe Cruz made sure the offense was rolling in the second dishing out five assists. Cruz would end the night with a team high 16. Ashlyn Daugherty, the team leader in blocks this season, made her presence known midway through the second set when she came down with a huge block to give the Pengs a slight two-point advantage. Daugherty would finish the night with a team high five blocks to go along with a couple of assists.

Senior leader Avery Schneider led the Penguins offense in the third set as she was able to find a soft spot in the Sharks defense early in the set. Schneider and fellow teammate Alexis Schwartz would connect on back-to-back kills midway through the third. Schneider, Schwartz, and freshman Cierra Ray would all finish with six kills apiece.

The Penguins will wrap up their home slate this Friday Nov.7^th as they take on Hawaii Hilo at 7 p.m. for senior night.
