Dominican announces innaugural women's lacrosse schedule

SAN RAFAEL, CA -- The Dominican women's lacrosse team announced its inaugural schedule for Spring 2023 Thursday. The schedule features 11 games highlighted by trips to Santa Barbara and Arizona.

Just a little over 16 Months ago, the Penguins announced the addition of the women's lacrosse program, as well as the hiring of head coach, Joseph Manna.

"It's tough to not get a little emotional thinking about the efforts of so many individuals to make this a reality," Manna said. "We had a great fall ball. All the work that these student athletes have put since committing to this program is finally coming to fruition."

Another addition to the Penguins this year was assistant coach Victoria Tucci who put in an extraordinary amount of energy to make the Penguins Fall Ball a success.

"Fall ball was really fun," Tucci said. "It is so fun to coach a group of girls that are eager to learn. I'm excited to be a part of this program and to see where it can go. It was awesome to watch them get so excited for their first college competitions and to watch them bond together as a family over the past few months."

The Penguins open the season at home on January 28th, against UC Santa Barbara. Dominican will then travel to Santa Barbara to compete in the Santa Barbara Shootout, the WCLA's premier pre-conference season tournament on the West Coast.
