Box Score SAN DIEGO -- Dominican women's soccer fell in a defensive battle Thursday to Point Loma 1-0 at PLNU Soccer Field.
 
The Penguins (3-4-1, 1-2 PacWest) finished the game with three shots, while the Sea Lions (2-4-1, 1-2 PacWest) finished with seven shots. Sophomore goalie Alyssa Ramos earned three saves in the match.
 
The only goal of the game came in the opening minute as Sea Lions' Ashlee Watkins scored 17 seconds in off an assist by Abbey Teagle that Watkins placed into the right corner. Dominican tried to tie shortly before the half, but Bailey Kiser sent her shot wide in the 32nd minute.
 
Dominican had two more shots in the second half. Junior Michelle Li shot first in the 54th minute and senior Ivy Torres 30 minutes later, but both shots went high.
 
The Penguins will play their next match Saturday as they travel to La Mirada, California, to face PacWest newcomer Biola University at 4 p.m. PDT. Live stats and video will be available online.
