The Penguins (3-3-1, 1-1 PacWest) pressed early and often, outshooting the Knights 16-13, with a 9-4 advantage in shots on goal. Sophomore goalie
Alyssa Ramos had four saves in the match for her third shutout, while Maggie Alikpala saved seven shots for the Urban Knights (0-5-1, 0-2 PacWest).

Meza led the Penguins on offense with six shots, four of them coming in the first half. Junior
Bailey Kiser attempted four shots, two of them on goal.

It was all Dominican early in the game as they had five shots with three on goal before Academy of Art could get its first shot off. Ramos then made back-to-back saves in a 20 second span to preserve the 0-0 tie in the 20th minute.

Katrina Cline found Meza alone at the top of the box in the 32nd minute and Meza put it off the left post and into the net for a 1-0 lead at the half.

The Urban Knights came out of the break and made a strong offensive push with shots on frame by Alice Michell and Abi Chavez in the first three minutes, but Ramos stonewalled both for the Penguins. Dominican then dominated possession for the next eight minutes with three more shots on frame and a corner kick, but they were unable to find the netting, leaving it 1-0 in the 56th minute.

In the 77th minute, Brown scored after junior
Rachel Stowell crossed a ball into the box from the end line and a diving Alikpala missed the ball giving Brown an empty net for the tap in.
