Box Score SEASIDE, Calif. –
Alyssa Ramos shut out CSU Monterey Bay to lead Dominican women's soccer to a 0-0 tie Tuesday at the Otter Sports Complex.

Ramos finished with six saves in 110 minutes of play for the Penguins (1-2-1) and was aided by three defensive saves from her back line for the shutout.

The Otters (2-1-2) finished with 15 shots with nine on goal, while Dominican had six and three, respectively.

Madison Aguirre had the first scoring opportunity for either team, but Ramos was ready and collected the save for the Penguins in the fifth minute. Three minutes later,
Rachel Stowell found space to try and put Dominican on the board, but was unable to beat Alyssa Noh for the goal.

Brianna Rodrigues had the next crack at beating Noh, but Noh was up to the challenge and made the save in the 27th minute. Ramos had two more saves, including one in the 42nd minute to preserve the tie at the break.

The Otters ratcheted up the pressure in the final 10 minutes of the game with Meredith Kelly, Jenna Viss and Ashlee Cortez each with shots, but Ramos twice made the save and the back line blocked Cortez's attempt to send the game to overtime.

Cortez again tried to break the tie in the 97th minute, but the defense came to Ramos's aid and cleared the ball from the line. Hadyn Gabbert followed seconds later with a header on goal, but the Penguins defense again made sure the ball could not pass the goal line.

Emma Nichols had the lone shot on goal in overtime for the Penguins, but Noh made the save in the 100th minute to send it to an extra 10 minutes. Ramos made one last save in the second overtime and shots by
Angelica Huettl and
Yasmine Angel went high for Dominican as the game ended in a scoreless tie.

The Penguins will return home Sunday to host UC Santa Cruz at 1 p.m. PST at Kennelly Field. Live stats and video will be available online.
