Alyssa Ramos has been named PacWest Women's Soccer Freshman of the Week for the week of Sept. 19-25.
Ramos allowed just one goal in a 1-0-1 week for Dominican. She made five saves in a 1-1 draw with Hawai'i Hilo, with the goal coming on a one-on-one breakaway with a forward. She then posted her first-career shutout and win against Hawai'i Pacific, tying her career-high with seven saves. Ramos ranks eighth in the PacWest in goals against average (1.24).
The Penguins will now head to Southern California to face Azusa Pacific (3-3-1/1-1-0 PacWest) on Thursday, Sept. 29, and Point Loma (3-2-2/1-1-0 PacWest) on Saturday, Oct. 1. Live video and stats for both matches will be provided by the host institutions and will be available at
