Michelle Li and
Mariah Meza have been named to the 2016 Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association Women's Soccer All-West Region Second Team.
The award comes on the heels of Li earning 2016 All-PacWest Women's Soccer Third Team honors. After missing 2015 due to injury, Li tallied a team-high five goals with two assists in 2016. The sophomore midfielder tied for ninth in the PacWest in goals (5) and 10th in goals per game (.31). The Benicia, California native was also named PacWest Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 3-10.
The Penguins finished with a 7-7-4 overall mark and a 6-5-2 conference record, good for seventh place in the 14-team PacWest.
The Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
