Matt Hayes has been named this week's PacWest Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week. Hayes shares the honor with BYU-Hawaii's Pablo Coro. The awards are based on games played Dec. 29 - Jan. 4.
Hayes scored a season-high 24 points in Dominican's win over Academy of Art. He matched his career-high with eight field goals, including five from three-point range. Hayes is averaging 16.7 points per game in the last three games for the Penguins.
The Yuba City, California native has started all 13 games for the Penguins and has logged the second-most minutes played (32.5/game). He has a team-best 31 made three-pointers and is second on the team in scoring (12.9 ppg). Additionally this season, Hayes has been
nominated to the 2015 Allstate NABC Good Works Team®.
