Field and Times set for 2011 Disney West Coast Tip-Off Classic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Match-ups and times for the 2011 Disney's Division II Tip-Off West Coast Classic have been announced. The eight-team field, including four men's and four women's teams, will be held November 4-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The tournament format calls for four games - two men's and two women's - to be played each day over three days. The 2011 Disney Classic will mark the fifth year of the event.

The men's field will be comprised of Chestnut Hill, Dominican University of California, UC San Diego, and Western Washington. The women's field will include Cal State Dominguez Hills, Hawaii Pacific, Saint Martin's and Washburn.

Chestunt Hill, a member of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), will travel the farthest as it makes the cross-country trip from Philadelphia, Pa. The Griffins concluded the 2010-11 season with a 12-16 overall record, including an 8-9 mark in CACC play.

Dominican, which was granted full NCAA Division II status last week, is a member of the Pacific West Conference. The tournament will mark the first three games for the Penguins under new Head Coach Booker Harris.

UC San Diego, which will be making its second straight Disney Tip-Off West Coast Classic appearance and third overall, is coming off an 11-17 season that included a 6-16 record and 11th place finish in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

Washburn (22-7), a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), is the lone team on the women's side that advanced to the NCAA Tournament during the 2010-11 campaign. The Lady Blues suffered a 65-64 first-round setback to Central Oklahoma in the South Central Regional.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is coming off a 4-22 season in which the Toros posted a 4-18 record in the CCAA. Hawai'i Pacific, a member of the Pacific West Conference, concluded the 2010-11 season with an 18-17 overall mark.

Saint Martin's, a member of the GNAC, rounds out the women's field and is produced a 15-12 overall record, including a 10-8 conference mark.
