Eleven of the seniors who were all apart of head coach
Joseph Manna's first class he recruited at Dominican got the start against the Cardinals and they made noise early. Pieri found a cutting Johnson for the black and gold's first points of the game, and then Newkirk collected two goals of her own in the first quarter. Gunnerson, the Idaho native, continued the seniors scoring on their day as she rocketed one past the goalie assisted on the play by fellow senior Brosseau.
Graduate student
Ryan Bionda continued her hot week as she posted a game high four goals while scooping up two ground balls. Bionda, the Ontario native finishes the week collecting 10 goals and 12 points.
The Penguins would own the third quarter as they outscored the Cardinals 4-0 led by Bionda and Fairbanks who got into the scoring action midway through the third when she found some space in the Cardinals defense and fired one past the goalie off a nice dish from Bionda.
Wilson, the Altadena native, got the nod in the cage for the Pengs and got the victory. The Penguins made life tough for the Cardinals offense so Wilson didn't see a lot of shots her way, but the ones she did see, she made sure to swat them away.
Kyra Evans, the San Diego native, was active on the defensive side of the ball leading the team with four steals and four ground balls.
Dominican will now hit the road as they travel to Catawba College March 11
