IRVINE, Calif. – The Pacific West Conference announced a record 194 Dominican student-athletes were named as Academic All-PacWest on Wednesday.
The previous high was 175 selections on the list for the Penguins. Changes in the requirements allowed for more eligibility on the list from players who may be redshirting. The award requires a student-athlete to be an active part of the roster during the 2024-25 season and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Overall a record 2,728 student-athletes earned the honors from the conference an increase of more than 800 from the previous high of 1,900 last season. The addition of Vanguard, Menlo and Jessup also helped boost numbers.
Dominican had 14 student-athletes achieve a 4.0 cumulative GPA joining a record 186 others in the conference this season. The Penguins also claimed the most selections in men's soccer (35), women's soccer (32), softball (25) and women's tennis (10).
