Cierra Ray led the Pengs in this one posting a team high 10 digs while slamming home six kills.
The Penguins started this match fast when sophomore
Kali Young took a nice dish from teammate
Chloe Cruz and skied high for an emphatic kill. Young would finish the night with five kills while Cruz was everywhere on the court for Dominican dishing out a team high 12 assists.
In the second set Dominican's defense gave the Golden Eagles fits early on as they didn't have an answer for
Ashlyn Daugherty and
Avery Schneider. After a couple strong offensive possessions, the Pengs defense stepped up the pressure when Daugherty and Schneider went up high for a couple of blocks. Daugherty would finish with a team high three blocks while Schneider was right behind her with two.
The Penguins will be back in action tomorrow Oct. 18
th when they travel to Biola at 2 p.m.
