SAN RAFAEL, Calif- Dominican women's volleyball wrapped up family weekend with a home match-up Sunday afternoon against Hawaii Hilo. The Penguins were coming off a Thursday night conference win against cross-town rival Academy of Art. The Vulcans came out the gates strong in this one winning the first set, and then the following two for a 3-0 victory.
Graduate student
Reagan Macha led the way for the Penguins in the kills department registering eight to go along with nine digs. Senior
Ella Heckman was right behind Macha slamming home seven kills while coming down with two blocks. Fellow senior
Rein Bocage was everywhere on the court this afternoon as she went for a game-high 25 digs.
Speaking about blocks, the Penguins were wrecked havoc for the Vulcans with their height collecting a total of eight blocks which was three more than Hilo. Sophomore
Ashlyn Daugherty led the team in blocks posting a season high six blocks. Dominican has more length than in years past and if the Pengs can continue to bring the energy on the blocks, this team can be dangerous down the line.
Dominican will wrap up their homestand Tuesday night as they welcome Hawaii Pacific into town at 7 p.m.
