SAN RAFAEL, Calif.- Dominican women's volleyball wrapped up their three game home stand with a Tuesday night PacWest match-up against Hawaii Pacific University. These two teams met a week ago on the big island and went five sets with the Penguins coming away with a victory. Tuesday night these two teams went five sets again, but it was the Sharks who came away victorious.
The first set was back and forth throughout with no lead bigger than three for either side. Towards the end of the set HPU took a 23 to 22 lead, but the Penguins said that's enough. Freshmen duo
Melena Wong and
Kali Young tied things up at 23, and then senior
Ella Heckman took a nice pass from
Rein Bocage to slam it home for set point. Graduate student leader
Reagan Macha would seal the set one victory for the Pengs. Macha would end the night with another double-double going for 17 kills and 15 digs. Junior
Avery Schneider who was out a couple games due to an injury, was second on the team in kills slamming home 13.Â

Rein Bocage led Dominican in the digs department posting 25 to go along with seven assists. Just like she did in the first set, Macha would slam home back-to-back kills in the second set for the 25
th point pushing the Penguins to a 2-0 lead.
The Sharks flipped a switch after that as they would go on to win the next three sets giving them the victory. Senior
