LIBERTY, Mo.- Dominican men's lacrosse dropped a close match to the Cardinals of William Jewell 11-10 Wednesday afternoon. Graduate student leader
Per-Anders Olters led the way for the Penguins scoring four goals while
Caelan Briggs was second on the team netting two goals.
Junior
Kenny Seiler got the scoring started for the Penguins early in the first period when he called his own number slicing through the Cardinals defense for a goal. Midway through the first, freshman
Jesse Fisher was able to put one past the goalkeeper off a nice pass from Olters. Not only did Olters lead the Penguins in goals he also dished out two assists.
William Jewell held a 10-5 lead late in the third period, but Dominican wouldn't go away so easily. With 13 seconds left in the third,
Cole Soper took a pass from Briggs which resulted in a goal cutting the Cardinals lead to 10-6. The Penguins would score four times in the fourth with their last goal coming from Olters with 25 seconds left in the game. The Cardinals would end up tightening up on defense to secure the victory.
Dominican will be back in action April 3
rd for a home night game against Santa Clara University at San Rafael High School starting at 7 p.m.
