Salt Lake City, Utah.- Dominican men's lacrosse traveled to Utah to square off against the Saints of Maryville University. The Penguins were able to score 10 times in this one, but Maryville ended up winning 22-10.
Brennan Krebs opened the scoring for Dominican when he was fed a nice pass from graduate student
Per-Anders Olters and finished it off with a goal three minutes into the game. Later in the first period the Penguins would score three consecutive times thanks to
Jason Eide,
Matt Padilla, and
Caelan Briggs. Padilla would end the day with two goals which tied a team-high with fellow teammates Olters and
Luke Vando.
The Saints had a big second period as they would go into halftime leading 15-4. However, the Penguins came out strong on offense scoring the first two goals of the second half and tallying six goals after halftime. Vando sliced through the Saints defense for two goals in the second half while senior
Connor Barnes was able to get into the scoring column in the fourth.
Dominican will return to the field tomorrow for a St. Patrick's Day match-up with Westminster University.
