DENVER, Colo.- Dominican women's lacrosse concluded their Colorado road trip Monday afternoon facing off against Rockhurst University. The Hawks jumped out to an early 5-0 lead which helped them pull out a 18-11 victory in this one.
The Penguins offense started off slow but finished strong Monday afternoon. Freshman
Nora White opened the scoring for Dominican when she fired one past the goalkeeper midway through the first. The Pennsylvania native finished with two goals on the day pushing her season total to seven.
Jacelyn Lazore and
Stella Artukovich rounded out the scoring in the first period for the Penguins. Both would finish tied for a team high with three goals against the Hawks. Dominican was doing their part on offense trying to keep up with Rockhurst, but when the Penguins would score the Hawks would answer quickly. Going into halftime Dominican was down by six but would score five goals in the second half to get over double digits in scoring on the day.
Taylor Pieri,
Siena Fairbanks, and
Julianne Lane all found the back of the net against Rockhurst as well.
Dominican is back home Saturday March 16
th for a scrimmage against Bay LAX.
