COSTA MESA, Calif.- Dominican women's volleyball wrapped up their three-game southern California road-trip with a Saturday afternoon conference match-up against the Lions of Vanguard. This is Vanguard's first season in the PacWest conference so the Penguins will be doing this trip more often in the future. Dominican came out ready to attack in this one winning the first set, but it was the Lions who came out victorious winning three sets to one.
The Penguins jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first set causing the Lions to call an early timeout. Sophomore
Braenwynne Matthews picked out a soft spot in the Vanguard defense causing them to commit four straight service errors. Graduate student
Reagan Macha had lots of emphatic slams against the Lions and collected a handful in the first set. Macha led the Penguins in kills racking up 15 on the day with two aces. Freshman
Kali Young was second on the team slamming home seven with six digs.
After dropping the first set, Vanguard would regroup and win the next three. Senior
Camille Rivers made it 13 consecutive matches going over double-digit assists dishing out 25 against the Lions. Fellow senior
Rein Bocage led the team in digs digging out 13 while junior
Kendal Kibanoff was right behind her with 11.

th at 7 p.m. when they host Fresno Pacific for military appreciation night.
