Penguins Compete in Seawolf Classic

Dominican women's volleyball matched up with CSU Monterey Bay on Friday afternoon in game one of the Seawolf Classic in Rohnert Park, Calif.

These two teams matched up a week ago in the Otter Invitational, so the Penguins were familiar with their opponent. CSU Monterey Bay came out the gates fast and would end up winning 3 sets to 0.

Dominican was led by freshman Braenwynne Matthews who was all over the court in this one. The Idaho native collected a team high 11 digs while also going for six kills. Junior Camille Rivers who has been as consistent as they come to start the season racked up 10 assists and 10 digs. This marked her fifth consecutive match with double-digit assists.

Fellow junior Ella Heckman had a team high eight kills and freshman Christina Muller finished the match with 10 assists to go along with two aces.

The Penguins close out the Seawolf Classic with two matches tomorrow. Game one starts at 10 a.m. against CSU Dominguez Hills then game two is at 4:45 p.m. versus CSU San Bernardino.
